Re: fishing or boating?

I bought my boats for fishing and rarely go out just for the ride, I do enjoy boating but just never do it.

Mostly fishing unless the kids go with my wife and I. Than it turns into swimming and just goofing around. They fish for 1/2 hour or so and than want to play.
Either way I am on the boat and not stuck here at work.

I always keep rods in the boat -- just in case I want/need to fish and that is what I mostly do. There are times I just like to cruise around...mostly looking for new places to fish. Really, really enjoy being on the water.

If the wife is along then no fishing stuff is allowed on the boat. "It gets in her way". Thats OK she pays for half of the boat and insurance so I don't mind. Number 1 son and i do like to fish the rest of the time.

Re: fishing or boating?

both are equally important to me. i'll spend a free hour flying around the bay burning fuel, next day i'll be sticking of bunker while i try to find the striper. it's all about getting out on the water. of course, beer compliments both activities...

Depends with us (she herself and me....mostly herself :) ). If we want to fish, we take the StarCraft. Can get from here to there quicker. We like to just cruise in the StarCraft to.

If the rugrats want to go, we take the toon. Then they can swim till there prunes and no hassle getting them all on board. Herself will still take a pole.

I love to fish. I don't care if its from a paddle boat and have done my fair share of bank and pier fishing. But, if I'm in the boat there's rod n reels on board. :)

Fishing in the morning and evening, boating, swimming, skiing, etc in the afternoon, unless we are in a gator mood, then trolling from 9 or 10 am till 2 or 3 pm

Re: fishing or boating?

I only wish to fish. Had a theory that if I bought a Fish 'N Ski boat I wouldn't get to fish because the family would always be wanting to go cruising or tubing. So I got an old boat that's rigged for fishing - heck it's only got three seats and no other padded surface & just 70hp. But, nevertheless, on a family trip I just fish early & late and spend the middle of the day pulling kids around on a tube. Not that I'm complaining - trying to throw 'em makes for pretty good sport!

jtw
