Re: Fishing Tournament

OK. I Have ADD. Connot wait for clearance. There is a fishing tournament at Lake Carl Blackwell in Stillwater, OK that will benefit Special Olympics. The entry is $40. I cannot tell you what will be won, but Okies are very generous and the prizes are valued higher than the take! Anyhoo. If you are interested, the check-in is at 0500 on Saturday, 4-16-05. Just go to the store and ask for where to enter. We will be the only people around who are not hung-over! Need directions: tommc17@sbcglobal.net

Re: Fishing Tournament

The crappie were slow today at LCB. I think the smaller lakes (Boomer) will be great. The next few days will be beautiful (sorry guys up north, it's 75, light winds and sunny, I have a terrible burn on my bald head and face). I'll post the results Sunday.

I heard (from an organizer) that they have 2 lifetime fishing licenses, a couple of outboard motors, and lots of rods, reals, and tackle. For $40, cannot be beat. I also heard about 20 entries so far.

However, several of us fished today and we did not find a thing (save 5 slicks, two wimpy crappie, and a sick looking 8 inch bass)

I think after four weeks of 20+ mph winds, the fish are confused. We have three days of calm winds so maybe we'll all get lucky.

I know Wal-mart carries live lobsters, but they said I couldn't weight them in. The boys in the freezer look very dead, so I don't think they'll pass either.

Re: Fishing Tournament

Oh Lordy! The fishing was very slow for bass today. The winner was at 10 something with a 5 fish limit. Ouch. They gave away a set of tires, lifetime license, half gallon of (good) vodka with glasses and a case, lots of speaker (Kicker is a big sponsor), jackets, shirts, hats, Dewalt tools..... it was worth it.

I caught a ton of sand bass and crappie. Bass were elusive to say the least.

Only 16 entries. The organizer wants to quit doing it. Us in LE really come out for it, but I don't think we advertise very well.

Re: Fishing Tournament

wow thats not many entries.I only knew about it from word of mouth a couple of days in advance. I would think they could get more entries if they put a flier up in all the departments of the city. I know we could probally get 2 more boats from the garage if we had better info of when it is going to be. How did Little do he was supposed to fish it? What a great day for fishing though.
