I am going to need to drill some holes to replace old cover fasteners!! - not having drilled into GRP before i am a little concerned about some reports of cracking splitting and chipping, the fasteners currently are a mixture of stud poppers and lif-the-dot, some of the posts for the lift-the-dot clips have pulled out, and some of the stud poppers are the same, I would like to replace the broken missing ones like for like. I have tracked down suppliers of the varios fasteners and the come in several styles selftapping, nut and threaded shaft, and flush mount with a two hole plate, where the studs have pulled out would it be better to drill right through the original hole and use the threaded shaft and nut type or could the selftapping ones be epoxied back into the original holes, (holes appear to be sound just the thread stripped inside i believe) any advise on how to drill and mount the fastners would be most welcome. TIA
