I used ratchet straps with the hooks just under the cap edge since the whole cap weighs about 200#, the 5 ratchet straps had between 30# and 70# on them

Thanks Scott. I'm still trying to get it to pop loose. I can pry everywhere and it just doesn't want to loosen by the transom. Even ran a sawzall through the gap.

Did you check that the inside was clear? Between the inside of the splashwell and transom, and up to each corner cal all be resin puttied together.

I finally got the cap loose. It was just some sound deadening foam holding the splash well down. I'm trying to work out a deal with the boat shop to see how much it will cost for them to do the wood and send it back to me for reassembly. It's more of a time thing for me. I've got customers lined up to get their cars ready for Spring...throwing my boat on top of that is a busy workload

That's what I'm afraid of. For the most part all the wood can be removed with a shovel

Hey everyone, just thought I'd share the progress on my boat. I've been working together with the boat shop to get it restored. The boat has been traveling back and forth between their shop and my shop with both of us working on it. Im really happy with the progress.
