Ok, so my factory manual says my motor has fixed jets? How am I supposed to adjust the idle and such? Should this just be done at the throttle cable cam?

Thanks,
Hunter

The idle set screw is on the throttle lever on the powerhead.

The idle set screw is on the throttle lever on the powerhead.

There is a reason they put fixed jets in it---so you don't have to adjust it. Nobody ever got them right anyway. The idle speed (rpm) is the only adjustment. Watch the throttle lever as you move it towards idle. You will see it come up against the screw just mentioned. If you have to make major adjustment to it, you will also need to adjust the control cable to match it.

Ok, thanks guys. What is the "throttle lever"? I guess I know it by a different name. Is it the part with the roller on it that comes out of the top carb?

Thanks again,
Hunter

No, it's the upside down lolly-pop looking thing the throttle cable connects to.

Oh, I'm an idiot. That makes sense now. Thank you!
