fixing corroded zippers

Any suggestions for a chemical, product or technique to un-stick zippers that corroded and stuck during the off-season? Yanking with pliers usually leaves half of it behind, still stuck! There are too many zippers in my life to go around and keep them all lubed and moving.

Thanks!

I've always used spray silicone on the zippers, works pretty good, but I know saltwater seems to leave behind deposits on zippers that causes them to stick...maybe clean well with detergent, then silicone..

^^^^^+1

Wash, let dry, spray silicone, work back and forth.

(you mught want to try rubbing candle wax on both sides of the zipper and working it in for long term storage)

Try some WD-40 and a small wire brush (the kind that look like a tooth brush and get the one that has the softer bristles). Spray, brush, clean, than spray again and try to unzip. This has a good success rate. You can also try some penetrating oil.

Make a toothpaste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Use and old toothbrush to scrub it good.
The baking soda is a mild abrasive.
Once scrubbed good and working again rinse with water and then apply candle wax.
