Hi to all,

It's been a long time since posting. KATRINA!!!

I live in St. Bernard Parish, LA. Southeast of New Orleans. 10' of water in home. Needless to say lost everything we owned. Anyway I had disconnected the tiedowns, put plug in and gas it up, just in case, family was going to stay. (They had evacuated for several storms before, 22 hrs to Texas). And I was esential personal at the hospital where I work. Well thank God they did decide to leave as we have a 3 year old grandaughter living with us. All in all things could be worse. Now for SBA and Fema thats another story.

Now for my question, My flatboat that I had just bought and mounted my 48 spl floated untill it hit the top of my side carport roof filled up with water than sunk. Marsh grass and mud filled it. I guess it was under water for a week and a half. I hadn't done anything to it yet. One thing is that I've been digging 10" of mud out of the house and discarding everything inside. The other thing the boat is somewhat blocking my shed and I'm removing my tools, etc. People are just walking around looting anything they want. So with the boat there it looks like nothing is there that anyone would want, at least thats what I'm hoping. But I can't wait to get it and start working on it. I miss fishing so much. Even with all that has happened I need some sort of release. The strange thing is digging the mud and cleaning the house has been therepy so to speak. It feels good to be there even with the neighborhood looking like a ghost town. Very few people returning.

What am I looking at with the engine? Is it even possible to fix? Hopefully I'm not looking at another engine. At this time that will not be in the budget.

Any info will be appreciated.

Sincerly,
Beck
