Flooding Problem

Hi All- First post, thanks in advance...<br />Motor is a 115 V4 2000 Johnson.<br />It seems to floodout to the point of not cranking at least once a trip. <br /><br />Is there soemthing I can check to sure this? When starting do i need to push key in to choke everytime I start up?

Welcome To IBoats <br />You only need to choke it when it's cold if it's warm you don't have to as it might flood

so if it had been run all day and I choked it to start it, it coul dhave flooded it to the point of not starting, and a very ston gas smell>>>

One shot on the choke when cold should be enough for it to start anymore would flood it with a strong smell of gas at that point you either wait or crank without the choke better to wait
