Re: Flooding thru transom when in reverse

LOL... now I know why boats are named "His Mistress" and such... I'm sure I've spent more time sitting in this boat in my garage this winter than I will in the next 5 years on the lake... but it's better than watching TV...

The floors are back in, foam is good, used fiber reinforced bondo to cap the holes and then epoxy-painted the floors twice. I put a disk of 1/2" ply further support the seat... there is a 1/8" plate of aluminum below the deck as well (original equipment).

The fuel tank sender had not been working well so I wanted to have easy access to the tank... and good aeration of the ski locker so I built a Mahogany grate to serve as the centerline-floor of the boat... I like the look and I think it will hold up well. I've decided to Durabak the side sections and then make a piece of wood trim to join that to the carpet on the sidewalls...

Tonight I finally rehung the transom shield... What a relief! good to be building up again.

I'd like to hear any hints about applying Durabak over the epoxy/ply...

Thanks again for all of your help.

If it's warm enough, I hope to apply my Durabak this weekend. Why don't you hurry up and get yours on so you can tell how it works!

I think it's done! Haven't splashed it yet... it's been raining for a month... soon though.

I got a scare when I turned the key for the first time... nothing... turned out that I had somehow knocked the neutral switch wire off of the shifter box... no problem afterwards and now I have a new battery!

The Durabak went on very easily and I like the overall result... now I just hope it floats!

Thanks for all of your help and encouragement along the way!

Nice! Very unique touch with wood platforming going down the middle.

Being a Long Time Woodworker I really like the Center Grate! Will take some care and maintenance but, IMHO well worth the effort for the convenience and "The LOOK"!! Very Nice!!
