I know this has been covered before, but everyone's boat seems to be a lot deeper than mine, and I am just wondering if it is feasible to put a floor and casting deck as well bow deck on this. Not sure of type of boat, but it is a 14' aluminum as you can see. Bow deck will just hold the trolling motor and a front light. Here is the boat in its state right now. I have started to make a template out of some styrofoam panels I had, but its a pain in the butt.

So as you can see from the pic, the two front seats are what I want to replace with the deck. The deck would be level with the seats and I would put a swivel chair up there, Would this be too unstable with a swivel chair? Or should this be fine that high up?

Re: Floor and casting deck

Welcome to iboats.

It will be too tippy. Not a practical application with a boat that has a narrow beam.

I'm doing a similar project with my tinny. I would have reservation with your boat because of the rounded bottom. Mine is much flatter. A low floor should be OK though. Check the stability by standing on the seat. That will be the telltale.
