Im looking for a good set of feet to put on the bottom of my dinning room chairs that wont scratch my hardwood floors. I have triend the felt tips, and nylon tips and the "neopreme socks" and they all suck...... Im in need of something that will work.

He is what I have. 4 dinning room chairs. They are a wooden leg that is angled on top of a hickory hardwood floor.

Thanks for your help.

What's wrong with the felt? They make some pretty dense felt material.

You could also do an area carpet.

Skiuseme,

I know what you are saying...they always fall off after a while. The ones that I have found that actually stick to the feet wear out too quickly. Now I use the heavy duty felt ones ( about 1/4 inch thick) from the local hardware store, and to prevent them from falling off, I hot glue them in place. works fine for me.:)

I like the thick felt ones glues on.........

What I think is the biggest factor is how often the chairs are used. Daily? Is it the primary dining area for everyone of do you use a kitchen and the dining room on special days?

If it's a daily use I would also look into a few more coats of floor finish.

I'll tell you what works great though it may not be appropriate for your decor.

Cut an X in a tennis ball and slip it on the end of the chair leg.

The plastic chair slides that look like a giant thumb tack work for me on the bottom of my chairs. For larger pieces, I use rubber backed marine carpet. I glue it with the pile side facing the floor. Goop brand glue works well...I have a piece on the bottom of my 600+ lb, when empty gun safe. I can slide it across the hardwood floors and not damage them.
