When pulling up a corner of the old carpet on my Yar-Craft Yankee I noticed underneath was all fiberglass. Not smooth yet like horse hair. I had planned on putting down some bed liner and calling it good. How do I fill that in or should I sand it down and secondly do I use a bed liner or use like deck paint with sand sprinkled in or something. Any advice would be appreicated.

You can certainly use paint with sand in it. Others on here have used no-slip coatings like Durbak or Kiwi Grip with success. I used marine vinyl on my project which also worked well.

Up here is washington state a LOT of people use bedliner in there aluminum boats. I don't know of anyone that uses it on a fiberglass boat. I think adding some sand to paint, or using the kiwi grip is a much better way to go on a fiberglass deck.
