Hello, i am attempting this for the first time. i am adding floors to this boat. i will put the front and rear bench seats back in for structural reasons. what i want to know or need help with is this..by looking at the picture...am i doing it right? Folks i have no idea if i am on the right track or not. can i use JUST foam and wood over it for floors? or am i ok so far? this boat has a Cap of 850# and 30 hp rating. im not adding to much weight i dont think. i cant afford to spend the cash on Alum so. please let me know any thoughts you may have.

thank you
Tom
that looks like it going to work out, I would make sure you seal that wood up real good, or you'll be doing it again in the near future

Idealy the the pieces you have laying flat across the top should be standing vertical for regidity. If you stand on one of them now you will notice some flexing, even with plywood over the top of them they will still flex some.

I also agree with thescrumbler about glassing them over, as with any wood.

Reel Poor: i understand when you say on edge, what i dont understand is when i cut the wood something like this, angle is wrong but you get the picture.
________________________
\ /
\ /

to fit the rib conture, how do i attach them? just self tapping stainless screws?
