Had the floor sprayed today & got it screwed in! I know that you folks can't be as excited as I am about it, but you are the only ones that might be able to understand how excited I am to finally see some visible progress!

Getting sappy for just a minute, I would like to acknowledge that this project couldn't happen without the knowledge base of this forum and the helpful advise from its friendly particiants.
Thank You!!!

mckevin, I just put the first coat of paint on a boat I spent months, yes months, prepping. Trust me, I know the feeling. Makes a grown man what to shed a happy tear. goodonya!

Project looks good. Good pictures too. I've got a few questions if you don't mind. It looks like you are using polyester resin. If so are you happy with it? It also looks like your stringers are much thicker than the old ones. My boat has stringers (3/4 in ply) with bulk heads every four feet. I would consider beefing up the stringers and tying them together across the top as yours are. I like that it opens up the floor underneath. Do you have any experience with doing such a thing? The only difference I notice is that my hull has a deeper V.

wjeffofl, you can notch the top of your stringers, to tie together, this opens the bilge for better drainage and air flow. if using and built in tank you will have to bulkhead it, and allow room for expandtion.

That boat ought to be bomb-proof when you're done mckevin. You've made great progress.

Thanks!

If the weather holds I hope to get the floor sealed up Monday. If I can get the deck back on I'll probably let it rest until spring...
