Headed out yesterday and took some Hernando County firefighters/paramedics out for a little grouper fishing trip. We cant keep the damn things, you know everything is soooo over fished and no one even catches them anymore..:facepalm:
It was predicted 1' seas..but arriving early we found a solid 15 knot wind blowing down from the north and seas inshore were already 2'. Rounded up some bait with sabikis and tried to get to 50', but pulled up short in 32' as the seas just would not let us make any headway. Not to worry, however, as the inshore spot provided all the fish we could handle..
The last fish of the day proved to be the biggest..a 7' nurse sharke chomped one of the pinfish and a good fight was on!
We had a good day, and the seas finally laid down for our run in...here is a photobucket link of our day..
