I have a Johnson V4 90hp outboard model:J90TLCIM.<br />At top end, the revs seem to fluctuate as if the engine is missing. Please advise on the float level setting for this engine or any possible faults that can cause the engine to do this.
I have heard from a freind that was having a similar problem with a 115. It would run say 300 rpm lower at wot then would reurn to normal and then back to lower rpm. If the fluctuation follows a pattern up and down then more likely it is fuel if it is ittermittent then more likly electrical.<br /><br />Check the plugs and visually inspect the plug wires (with wires you can also check to ensure that the resitance is close to the same in all with an ohm meter)see if there is a bad wire.<br /><br />Secondly check fuel supply filter or inline filter.<br /><br />The bad wire fixed it for him.
