Fluid for upper unit

I just had the seal kit for the upper gearcase replaced, but now when I try to fill it with oil it just comes out the little vent above the prop. The mechanic I used has since moved across country. Looking for any advice

Ayuh,...... Is it a stringer drive,..?? or a cobra drive,..??

Gonna say stringer. Definitely not cobra

Is it continually dripping out until the upper is empty? Or is the upper gear case staying full?

It is a Stringer. Looks like electric shift.

drive will need to come apart and be re-sealed.
