fluid level

i am trying to get a 1973 85hp. evinrude going for the first time in a few years. i drained the lower end grease but i'm not sure how much to put in. also, i'm not sure what ratio to mix the gas. any help would be great, i think i'm almost there. thanks

you need new seals for the drain and vent plugs for the lower unit, first. fill from bottom hole til oil is at the vent plug lever. install vent plug with new seal, then drain plug. these seals not being changed is the #1 reason for water intrusion.

Your mix is 50:1 .......87 octane gas with TCW-3 oil

just so i don't mess this up what is tcw-3 oil? i have a bunch (4 qts.) of citgo extra range two cycle tc-w2. will this work or will i need to change the mixture? would it be best to get new oil? thanks again for the help.

Use the TCW-2 until it's gone, then TCW3. The Citgo brand used to be 1st class stuff.
