Re: Flushing motor
mountainboy
Not unless you want to have regular carb problems.
While in the water, disconnect the fuel line at the motor and run at a fast idle 'til it's about to die, choke it 'til it quits. If you use it daily or several times a week, no reason to to it.
Use it once a week, a month or less it is the smart thing to do. Smarter is to use OMC product 2+4 fuel conditioner in fresh fuel- to keep it fresh in the tank- still run gas out of the engine. On larger engines with oil injection, do not run the gas out, use fuel stabilizer/ conditioner in the fuel. For off season storage, put one ounce of Evinrude outboard oil in each sparkplug hole, replace plugs and pull the rope slowly once or twice.
Backfire
