When first learning about boats and outboards it was drummed into me the importance of flushing the engine clean after running in the sea, to remove any lingering salt deposits.

The ribs I learnt to drive on had modern engines and the muffs seemed to fit well.
Having bought my own boat, with an 85Hp Force I followed the advice, but, the muffs I have don't seal and most of the water leaks out of the sides.

I noticed on a new Suzuki the water inlet holes were situated on the flat narrow portion of the lower leg - ours is on the fat and curved gear suround. I assume the designs improved as time passed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for improved designs of muffs or know of a supplier - I need a muff that is curved rather than flat (probably)
