Hey I am new to the forum and have a couple of questions concerning an old johnson 33 hp. super seahorse rxe-15 which a 1967 model. I obtained boat, motor, and trailer from my mother-in-law and it had been sitting for about 15 years and I can't get the fly wheel to budge. After soaking the pistons in mystery oil for about 2 weeks I tried again with no success however a friend told me to take a wooden dow and hammer to the pistons which I did and got 1/2 inch or more movement to the pistons but the fly wheel is still stuck. I then took off the lower unit to see if perhaps it was a gear problem. The gears work fine and though there was what appeared to be crystalized fuel mix and carbon in the exhaust housing there was no rust and the cylinder walls look good too so my first question is could a coil be siezing the wheel or any Ideals and second my shift lever seems stiff and I can't figure out how to get exhaust housing off to clean it? grateful for your help. Motor was supposedly running when parked.
