I still dont know how to tell the difference between the flex plate style & the cast iron fly wheels

A flex plate one has bolts that hold center hub, the cast iron is one solid piece with not bolts at all. I posted your testing instructions is earlier post..

Faztbullet I got the test all done and every thing is in spec. the whole problem was what specs. to work with at the time I have a mercury service manual and the testing is pretty clear but the only question was what amperage chart to read, so we narrowed it down to the 40 amp with a flex type flywheel. to be honnest the 40 amp charging system does not list what type of fly wheel any way only that 16 amp system comes i guess with either or so with that Thanks for all your help and its off to the water I go Thanks Bob
