This is the best picture I have of our flybridge deck and our report reads that it is faded and oxidized and is probably beyond just plain buffing and in need of refinishing. So, after a good cleaning what would be done to refinish the deck?

what was on there before? There are tons of option on what to do with a deck. Durabak, gelcoat, paint,.... some are easy and some are more effort. Some are cheap and some are expensive. Is the deck solid? otherwise you just polish up ....

If its gelcoat that's beyond repair and its structurally sound, my preference would be a topside paint with nonskid. Gelcoat is great and hard and durable, but if you do much fishing or cooking or anything other than standing around, gelcoat can stain very easily.

I plan on gelcoat on my deck but it's a recreational boat, no extensive fishing, etc...
But you can bet I'm doing paint in the bilge for fluid spills n such.

Not sure what’s on there but I think it’s gelcoat. There are no soft spots. Honestly I thought the outer surfaces with a few exceptions all had gel coat to protect the fiberglass underneath. So I’ve learned something new. It will be mostly a recreational boat and the flybridge will be used for extra outdoor space for guests, and such. Actually, putting on gel coat for me as a new boat owner seems a little intimidating. But, if that’s what’s needed I’d be willing to try.
