flywheel and coils and points

i have a 2 hp outboard from johnson
took the fly wheel off and want to rebuild points condessor the whole works. i cannot find and good pics of what that looks like. i do have a repair manual but its very hard to understand. also having a problem with the fly wheel i can get it on but now it won't turn or rotate it will turn about a half then bind up thanks as always you guys rocks

would guess that you didnt align the coil with the mounting boss. ( check the top secret file at the top of this forum.)

not understanding that theres only three holes to put my screws in to align

You can not just put the 3 screws in and tighten them up.----The coil must be properly positioned in order to clear the flywheel !!!

the coil(s) are adjustible, if set to far out, the flywheel will hit it( them), to far in, and you will have weak spark. a quick look in the top secret file shows this. http://forums.iboats.com/engine-fre...-change-coils-set-points-old-omcs-294072.html
