Well mt Sportjet 120 quit running. No spark. I pulled the flywheel and all the magnets were broken loose and it ate two of them and took the stator with them. I found a used 4 wire red stator to replace my black one but I still need to locate 2 magnets so I can epoxy them all back on and see where that leads me. My motor is a 1997 Sportjet 120xr.

To answer your question, YES, you can re-epoxy the magnets back in place. I did that using JB Weld with magnets before. But if the flywheel you are looking to use is not the exact part number for your engine setup, I would be hesitant to use it. Like GA_Boater suggested, get a known good used one for your engine, and then no worries and happy boating again. JMHO

I found a used flywheel and purchased it. I just hope the magnets stay on it. I do have another question. My motor had the black 4 wire stator and it was torn up when it ate the magnets. I found a good used (I tested it) unit. It is red but has the same four wires. Two yellow, a green/white and a white/green. Is this unit plug and play. I heard something about an adapter kit for the red ones. Also the two yellow wires. Can they be connected either way to the two yellows they came off from?

Ok.. on to my next issue. The boat was starting fine after the flywheel and stator replacement. The shifter was very hard so I took it out and found the shifter to be fine when the cables were removed so I lubed up the cables and it is much better. However I went to start it and it wont turn over with the rocker switch. I was sure to put the neutral switch leads back on but I double checked it. I turned on the key, tried the rocker start switch again and nothing. So I jumped the starter solenoid and she fires right up and shuts off using the lower side of that rocker switch as it is supposed to. Any ideas where to look for this issue? I made sure the safety switch was engaged. But I have no idea how to test it to see if it's actually working.

You need to check for voltage on the little terminal on starter solenoid to see if you have voltage there when you try to start it. If you have voltage there, then check the other little terminal and see if it reads voltage there when you are trying to start it. IF you read voltage there, then you lost ground on that terminal.
