Re: Flywheel Problem.

Warped flywheel from the 2 screwdriver approach? Warped/bent stator plate? Place the flywheel on a piece of glass & inspect w/feeler gauge all around. Should use a flywheel puller & never pry one off or use a puller that applies pressure to the outside of the flywheel. You may have cracked the flywheel @ the bore that sits on the shaft & this is allowing it to pull down lower on the shaft under torque.

I think if the flywheel was cracked you'd see it. I was wondering if you had loosened the nut and gave it a good rap with a hammer and actually moved the crankshaft down.

c/6

Hooty

Re: Flywheel Problem.

Hooty, you wre right about the new key, but you made me thirsty. mrc3 got me to thinking about something being higher under there. I think better with a brewsky, so I sat down and looked it over good. D***, I hate to tell this on myself but here goes.

When I installed the new condenser there was about 3/16" difference. The mount is attached to the condenser. Sure enough I had it upside down. Turned it over and pleanty of room.

To all the guys who helped and tried to help, Thanks, Happy Boating. Hal
