I am in the process of reporting my 1990 sundancer. I just removed the old motor and I'm now in the process of taking some of the accessories to the new motor like the starter, motor coupler, flywheel.... How in the world can I prevent from turning the motor over while taking the bolts out of the flywheel???

Air impact wrench. Lacking that, a box end wrench with a smart rap from a hammer.

Lol of course I've tried the impact method along with trying a hammer... These things are on there....

If impact won't budge em or a breaker bar I say Bt Doc has the answers.

I use a small piece of chain from one of the bell housing bolts to one of the bolt holes on the flywheel

First, heat Then put a big screwdriver in the ring gear. Or If you have a crank socket you could put that on the front of the crankshaft with a big breaker bar and hold it nicely there.
But heating the old crank would be the play if the bolts are that stuck.
If the old engine or crank is junk I suppose you could ruin the bolts.

lol I got it. I didn't realize there were hopes to be able to insert something through it to hold it in place 😎😎

What are you putting in? Same, or better!? I'm doing a repower and I can't stop buying perfomance stuff. It's an addiction

I'm putting in a 600 horse big block. I know what you mean. I've often found myself buying aftermarket performance stuff, like chrome waterpump, chrome power steering pump....I even upgraded the bravo 1 drive to a bravo 3....
