My 72' glasspar 16' tri hull uses foam foam for most of its strength. with only two wood stringers laying horizontally, bow to stern, laying on top of the foam no cross ribs. the wood is glassed in to the bottom of the hull creating a drain channel.
My plan is to eventually put a mahogany lumber deck down. My question is should i just put more glassed stringers in instead of foam, which will eventually become water logged. i want to do it right, its a small boat, not a racer, but i defiantly want it to be sound.
Foam? No foam w/ extra suport to the bulkhead? the well that hold the foam are small anyways and wouldnt do anything for floatation. Sound deadening maybe? My main concern is that foam will sooner or later hold moister. I want to put a classic lumber deck down and have it last. kinda thinking about some garden hose glassed ribs?
