Is there any advantage to drilling thru the floor and pouring the foam in or just foaming between stringers before attaching the floor. Seems to me drilling holes in floor is risky due to water possibly getting into the bottom of the plywood floor because wood not being sealed where you drilled the hole.

I supose you can go either way. I think its just as easy to buy the pink foam at your home building supply of choice and put in before you do the floor. If the floor is already in and you dont way to or cant take it out then go with the hole method.

The holes are cut usually with a hole saw at least 2" in diameter.

The foam is going to expand and stick out....... trim the dried foam, reinstall the piece you drilled out with some resin and fiberglass it over the patch.

Bifflefan asked and I agree...... at what stage of the decking are you at?

Im glassing the stringers next week then planning on pouring the foam and trimming the "overflow" even with the top of the stringers and decking over it all. I dont want to drill holes in new deck after i install it. The factory did it that way and the origional deck was laying on the foam not the stringer tops due to expansion.

If that's the case..... go with foam boards from Home Depot or lowes or even pool noodles........ pouring foam into unconfined spaces might surprise the heck out of you and the advantage to using foam boards if the ability to drain water faster.

stop it your making me nervous!!!! i should be pouring sat or sun but i dont have a choice
