Fogging fuel injected engine 5.7 Mercruiser

I think I may of done something without proper research. I was winterizing engine with kit (5 gallon bottle, muffs, -100 antifreez) New set of muffs, the best I could buy. They did not make a good seal around intake. The sea water pump froze up .I stopped engine pulled pump for rebuild. I drained all 4 plugs on engine. I disconnected circulating pump hose from thermostat. I filled engine from bottle about 3.5 gallons until it backed up in hose. I then disconnected hose for output from seawater pump at the thermostat filled with antifreeze till it ran from hose disconnected from sea water pump. I then opened throttle and sprayed down throttle body while cranking engine with coil wire disconnected. I guess my question would be: I have a 5.7liter fuel injected Mercruiser I saw one thread that stated that doing this would cause problems with MAP. Did I create another set of problems by fogging engine this way. This was a bad weekend. Thank you in advance for your time.

You are lacking a lot of information, like year, what type of fuel injections, closed cooled or raw water cooled..
If the engine wasn't running when you fogged it, you didn't fog it.
Do you have an OEM service manual? It covers how to fog and drain and put antifreeze in.
Personally, sounds to me like you only have a 50/50 chance of the block not cracking if it's raw water cooled.

Thank you for the reply. The engine is a 1996 Raw water cooled. Is there anything else I can do to winterize properly? The fuel injection is TBI I plan to shrink wrap. The boat will be stored in a yard in northern IL. thank you for your time.

Read the other post on using muffs to winterize your boat. You need to DRAIN ALL!!!!!!! the water from the motor. The block has petcocks too.Just running the motor with antifreeze will not remove all the water.
You can run 50-100 gals of water before the thermo opens enough to get NEW antifreeze into the block.
Undo all the petcocks.Undo ALL!!!! the hoses. Then pour antifreeze solution in the hoses.Even the one leading back to the impeller. As you add antifreeze to the impeller watch out the back till you see at least a quart of stuff on the ground.
Remember AUTOMOTIVE antifreeze is against the law to introduce into a lake or river/ocean.The red stuff is fine to use and you don't have to worry about poluting the water.
The easy way will have one of use mechanics replacing you motor come spring.
Like Don say's if the motor wasn't running you didn't fog the cylinders. You fog first then add antifreeze.
If the muffs don't fit right then get different muffs.Muffs need a LOT!!!! of water to function properly,a boat while in the water has access to millions of gallons of water just a trickle will cost $$$$$$$$$$ Jerry

Might want to read the 2 winterizing stickies at the top of this forum, especially the one on using muffs.
Fogging a TBI system by running fogging oil into the throttle body isn't a problem, the problems are associated with the MPI engines and must be done with a mixture run thru the fuel system.
Also, here is a link to the OEM service manual for your engine.
