Re: fogging oil
While I like Seafoam as a decarb agent, they pretty much claim it will cure everything from that to the plague....
This is why I'm skeptical about Seafoam in general. They say it does so many things, if I can't believe some why should I believe any? What is in it that stabilizes fuel? Why would a decarbon agent also stabilize fuel and serve as fogging oil?
They make so many claims that sound to me to be far-fetched at best, makes me kind of doubt it does anything it claims. I have used it to de-carb my engines and it does indeed smoke like hell, but so does extra 2 stroke oil and fogging oil. Yes, it drools black crap, but my old 2 strokes tend to drool black oily crap anyway. I have absolutely NO objective evidence it actually de-carb'd my engines (nor do I have evidence any of them needed it!). I have never seen objective, measured evidence it actually works. (other than tales from the dock)
I use products made specifically for the intended use - i.e. Stabil (or similar) for fuel stabilization, real fogging oil for fogging. Seafoam just claims to do so many things, I can't believe it does any of them as well as the dedicated products.
