Re: Follow the build!

Havn't done much on the car recently, serviced the trans to see how things looked in there. Fluid was pretty dark but didn't smell burnt. Best thing is that there was nearly nothing in the way of metal in the pan.

I have made a change in my thinking as far as the engine goes. I realized that I would have the engine torn down to the short block anyway so it was a no brainer as to pulling it and going through the whole thing. Just a few hundred dollars more and I have a whole new engine. I has 136,000 miles so just doing the top end was a bit silly!

I got a B&M shifter for it that looks exactly like a 4 SP shifter with a T- Handle. No box, just a shifter boot on the floor. The only way you would know that it is an automatic is if you looked for a clutch pedal.

you mean you are already cutting holes in that pristine old ford? Yikes!!!

What did you do with the column shifter? How do you make it look like it was never there?

You ought to find a set of GT40 heads for that and run a set of headers on it. Being a '60's car, it probably has a decent compression ratio. Those GT40 heads, a small 1.08" Autolite 4100 4bbl carb and a set of headers would really wake that baby up. That's all assuming that you at least have 9:0 to 1 compression. You can still run on regular and those autolite carbs are very economical if you keep your foot out of it.
