yeah, trust me; I've learned my lesson in other areas when working with people to do work for me. I am going to make sure we agree to price terms and expectations of work and timeframe. This protects both of us, but I will be leaving a piece in there for him to contact me in case he sees other problems that need to be repaired. I think this weill make him more likely to contact me and say something like "hey, your bellows should be replaced" rather than just ignore it becasue it wasn't part of the agreement.

i let my guard down and dropped the ball because i thought this guy was a nice family dealer..i made a mistake and have to live with it, i have had lots of boats and over 100 car's ..it just slipped by...i got a home to sell and am 45 y/o and i had appointment to show it tuesday. i was getting mostly jerks. owned it in my family 30 years. then a perfect 10 college girl showed up to look at it for herself. 25 yrs younger then me..guess what a xtra big mistake took xtra $$$ off for being pretty. but she's still lookin.not sure yet..love is blind. my speed boat got me blind to this dealer. never will this happen again.

Unfortunately, boating is such a seasonal business...I have had experiences like that too where one week turns into 2 months! I have come to understand that i must do the work myself, just to know HOW it's done. I would almost rather do it myself slightly wrong (and learn my mistakes), than pay a drunk mechanic money to do it "supposedly" right (and have him screw me). Either way, it's TOUGH to find a good boat mechanic, because people only want this stuff done last minute, in the summer!!!
