Re: For those who pray( Emergeny prayer needed)

Well yesterday was another hard day. Ronda had a reaction to the Morphine ( At least thats what they think it was) and woke up with ringing in her ears and was basically deaf. Insted of gettint into surgry she had to go through tests all day. Well by afternoon it went away so they rescedualed surgery. That went fine until when she was waking up and they were removing the breathing tube she began to cough and be doing so somehow got a bunch of fluid in her lungs....Ok so more pain, more issues....we get through that and then she starts having other effect from the morphine so they gave her something to get all the morphine out of her system.......So she had to go through the pain of surgry and her broken bones painkiller free for awhile.......She is supposed to come home today..........Thank you all for the prayer I told her about it and she smiled about all of you posting..........Believe it of not that was quite a big deal yesterday.

Prayers for the whole family Mike. Hang in there man. I've helped someone right after they broke a leg, let's just say I know how tough she is. With that said, there will be a time when this will be nothing but a good story, even for your son . . .

Re: For those who pray( Emergeny prayer needed)

Just got home a little while ago. I got to the hospital this morning and it was not good at first....They had her on a respirator and she couldn?t talk or move and it was just horrible. They could not figure out why, but for some reason she was not getting enough O2 cuz she kept stopping breathing. She finally went to sleep so me and my little boy went to the waiting room that has video games and I got a little shut eye myself( I dozed off for about 1/2 hour)......After about an hour we go back and we walk in her room and there she is smiling and eating crackers and drinking juice.......Most important breathing on her own. The lung Doc. pulls me off to the side and says she has sleep apnea and when she?s on all the drugs( Morphine) its like she sleeping so she will just stop breathing and that?s what was going on the whole time......OK #1 praise God its treatable. #2 she has all the symptoms and we just never figured but now we know. The therapists came in and were able to get her out of bed and into a chair....was very painful for her but it was a victory none the less. She is no longer on Morphine and now taking pills. She could possibly come home tomorrow but in truth I hope she can stay at least another day so she can heal just a bit more before we have to move her into our house. OH one other thing our insurance went up last month so we decided to look into some new insurance to save some money, well after a long thought out decision we decided to stay with what we had. For once our gamble paid off and if we would have canged our detuctable for the Amb. ride and emergency would have killed us....instead its covered....Whewwwww.....Once again, Thank you all.

A very big victory!! I did the same exact thing Ronda is doing. But I stayed in the hospital for a week, man.
Tell her she "out-cowboyed" me by 4 days! :)

I thought the doctor was just not understanding the extent of pain I endured just to lower my leg, much less attempt to stand. But after werkin with him, the staff, and a therapist who went thru the same thing, I started to make limitted progress..
Ronda's first three weeks are going to be very, very rough -- then gradually, over the next 8-10 weeks, she'll become more mobile.

Man I hear ya 12 ft'r After she got in the chair she stayed there for awhile. They seem to want to push her out of the hospital.......You wouyld think they would keep her for a few more days. Shes a tough chic but after everything she has gone through she is just worn out.

The technology they have today just blows my mind.....100 yrs ago this would have been at the very least crippling if not life threatening......Today the ambalance doesnt even speed to get there cuase a broken leg is not considered a major emergancey.....dang......Im going back to hospital to say goodnight to her....I cant spend anymore time in those stupid hosptal chairs or they my have to give me some painkillers and therapy.....:D

A blessing in disguise?? Sleep Apnea untreated is a serous disorder, it can be life threatening. If Ronda?s accident brought this to light, breaking her leg may have added years to her life. Again prayers for her, and your family?s recovery.

Re: For those who pray( Emergeny prayer needed)

OK here to rant a little bit...........OK alot. Ronda is doing better. We found out she has Sleep apnea. Machine is helping her sleep. She went from ICU to respatory floor last night. Well new nurses today and is basicaly left to fend for herself. I have almost physicaly grab the nurses and drag them to her room to get anything. They seem to be put out to have to do anything. Then we find out the breathing machine is not covered by out insurance until she has a full spectrum of tests.....well she wont have any till 2 weeks and even thought the Docs say she must have machine we have to pay for the next two weeks($300). Also they( Insurance) wont pay for walker and wheelchair. We need the wheelchair to get up the stairs in our house but she can almost get around on the walker. Fine we have to rent the wheelcahair $150 a month.....$300 for the breathing machine.....Ok fine sux but what are ya gonna do......Well it comes time for us to be discharged so the one nurse comes in to basicly usher us out......No other nurse even came in to explain anything. No dishcharge instuctions papers signed or anything. OK im allready in a mood so I start to say what the heck. After they take care of that we go to get her in the wheelchair......After a very hard, painful experience my wife finally gets into the wheelchair. And we find out her leg does not fit on the leg rest cuz they didnt bring the extender. Then they come in and tell us the machine wont be delievered and that our ride has to leave............AT THIS POINT IM FIT TO KILL.....I had kneel down and hold my wifes destroyed lg with my hands as the freaking nurses discuss where they could possably find a wheelchair that would work........probably 5 mins. but for any of you that this has happend 5 min is forever when you injured appendage is being held up by a person.......I had get her back into bed myself with the help a pregnant nurse who didnt even understand how we needed to do this. She acctully tried to grab the wifes ankle where all the damage is. By time she gets back in bed shes screaming in pain so a different nurse brings her morphine......This #$%#%#$% double doses her and gives her twice as much as they were giving her the day she came in....of course now in pain and freaking out she now is sick and freaking out morecuz she is so afraid she is gonna OD on this morphine, having a panic attack in pain and totally out of her mind .........It took everything in my not to start thumping some people.....Yes Im a Christian.......But you hurt my wife because of incompitence and you better watch out............I stayed until she slept and I complained to the administrator but the would not move her to a different wing and almost tried saying they were not gonna let her stay tonight cause it was not ordered by a doctor.................Shes coming home tomarrow.
