Force 120 (1991)

I can get my 21'trophy to go past 3200 rpm<br />if i push it maybe i can get 3500 to 3700 but the buzzer starts. also the speed shifter gets hard after 3300 rpms.<br />someone suggested rebuilding and synch the carbs.<br />Any Help is greatly appreciated.

The buzzer is an overheating warning buzzer.<br />Don't run again untill you have the waterpump serviced and the engine inspected for overheat damage.

Thanks <br />The water pump was replaced along with the thermosthat. the buzzer comes on only when I tried to get past 3500 rpm, some auto mechanic played with the carbs, thats why I'm concerned about the carbs (this mechanic is very good with carbs)but he didn't finish working on it and he won't be avaliable for about a month or so.<br />can the carbs cause this to happen?<br />Thanks Again.

If the carbs are set to lean, the engine won't get enough lubrication (oil in the gas), the engine will run hot, alarm will go off.<br /><br />Head will warp. cylinders will get scored.<br /><br />A proper lync and sync is critical for that motor.<br />Many auto mechanics don't understand 2 cycle engines!!

thanks again.<br />Ok this time we took the carbs out and dissasenbled them,cleaned and assembled back then they were sync by the book.<br />they run great I'm so pleased with the results,big difference the engine runs smoth and it doesn't shut off,now I can get it to 4200rpm at WOT. But after 3500rpm the buzzer go off<br />(we also cleaned the spark plugs)someone mentioned the stator can cause high temp<br />any other suggestions?<br />thanks

Check the compression on all cylinders. You may have a blown head gasket. If you do, this will cause your overheat problem.

i had the same problem but my force was a 1998 i had sand on the exhaust side motor the water wouldnt circulate through motor.also i did put the impeller in backwards think those motors turn clockwise.take off motor cover watch flywheel see what way motor turns.then install impeller in that direction when you install water pump cover.i dont know what kind of water pump you have mines alot newer has a mercury lower unit.
