Hello,
I'm new here........and new to boating. I would like some help if someone has any:
My Motor is believed to be a 94 Force 120 by Mercury Marine, I was using the boat and went to start it and it has no spark. I was looking around and found that there was something loose under the flywheel so I pulled the flywheel, removed the Stator and the Trigger Assembly; found the plate with the crank seal on it was real loose with one bolt ready to fall out. Two of the wires on the Trigger Assembly are rubbed down to bare insulation but this doesn't tell me anything. How do I check to see if the Stator is bad or the Trigger Assembly is bad?? I have a Multimeter; I was told that I could check it out with the meter? It also has a newer box on the side of the motor that reads CDI. The Stator has 2 blue, 2 red, and 2 yellow wires. The Trigger Assembly has a white, a violet, a brown and white w/ black stripe.
Any help would be VERY, VERY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Kindly!!!
