Force 15hp not pumping with muffs??

Ok, I know other people have mentioned this,, so i tried using muffs on my 15 hp Force and sure enough, it won't pump squatt, nada, no water at all, no matter how much I turn up the hose. I put the motor in my 1/2 (55gal) barrel that I use and it pumps like crazy with no problems... So what is stopping it from working with muffs? This doesnt make sense...Anybody got any ideas?? thanks.......... ron

I tried muffs on mine too with no luck. I even put a c-clamp on the sucker to hold the cups tight to the housing, still nada. I hear you gotta have just the right set-up to pull this off? Maybe some one else knows.

Not sure this is correct, but this is a thought that I had about it. Could it be the casting design isn't allowing the water to reach the pump. The water may be flowing past the inlet while on the hose. May only be designed to draw water in while surrounded by it, or moving forward.

Well, that is dumb. I cant believe that the design won't let it suck up the water when it is under pressure,, maybe somebody else knows a reason why.. Any of the experts out there know?? thanks ron
