Force 1989 85 hp

This motor was rebuilt in 2012. Runs perfect. I am doing a boat deck replacement and remodel. It has stringer steering. Can I change it to hydraulic or mechanical steering? I will rebuild helm dashboard if necessary. Boat is a 1989 Ozark fish and ski.

ery easy to do.​

Sea star side mount is a good outfit.​

I used this on my 88 with twin 85hp. outboards.​

You'll need the side mount as the front mounts won't fit.​

Just make sure the steering tube is absolutely clean.​

I use oil to lube it after it's been installed.​

Grease gums up the works.​

The hyd. steering is REALLLLLLY strong, so make sure the king pin is lubed and free moving.​

If not it can break the frozen parts and do some serious damage.
