force 50hp over heating

Hello, My friends Force 50HP Outboard model(507X7C) year? is over heating! The water does not come out where it supost to come out. How can we correct this problem? It was running great last year but since he stored it know it over heats and water does not come out. Any help would be great thanks!! :D

The first place to check is the impeller on the waterpump. This means the lower unit has to come out. There are posts here if you do a search for lower unit removal. You might want to get a manual because if it isnt the impeller you will need the manual to make the other checks

The motor is a 1987.<br /><br />Change out the waterpump and the thermostat.<br /><br />Definitely get a manual, click the link at the bottom of this page.

Sandollar, just buy him the manual.<br />Leave it lay at his house and tell him he only has to pay you $2 every time he uses/reads it. You'll have a pile of money on no time. :D
