Re: Force 50hp serialnumber/parts

The A and C refer to production runs, and tell which components were used on different production runs. Some parts may have come from a different supplier, or had a different part altogether. Maybe a different carb, or in this case, CD unit or entire ignition system.

Buying a part from a different production run may, or may not work with the rest of the components on your engine.

Try this website. They have the CD units listed by year, then by serial number. If you click on the yellow button to the right if the item, it will show you a picture and a written description of the part.

http://www.outboardparts.com/chrysler/mall/chryslerforcecdignition.htm

Their phone number is:

1 941 351-4975

Mission not yet accomplished however; non of the available CDI's are looking like the one mounted on my version..
Also numbering on my CDI is not compatible..
Appart from being expensive, spare-parts for outboards are difficult to trace.
Weather for fishing is fine, so would like to get the issue solved
Tnx help

Re: Force 50hp serialnumber/parts

Tnx to Roscoe; on the site you mentionned, I found out that the CDI partnumber for a Force 50hp model 507E92C is 18495A6.
Found the number now; see wether I find the hardware itself. Price ticket for NW-Europe known already in advance at roughly 450usd.
Boating can be funny, that little black box costs me exactly 10% of the price of the 19ft boat + 6000lbs double axe trailer + 50hp Force outboard I just came to purchase secondhanded.
Better sell my boat in bits & pieces.. so I can buy a bigger one? ;)
