I have a 1995 Force 70 on my 17' starcraft. It starts and runs fine. Once in a while when I'm running at full throttle or close to it, the engine just dies. It will be after running at full speed for a half'en hour or so, then all of a sudden with no warning it stalls. There no alarm sound, no change in engine sound and its been peeing all this time. Some times I can start it back up again, but sometimes it takes a while. The fuel filter look clean and the bulb is firm and not depressed. Dose anyone have any idea on what it is? I'm stumped. Please drop me a line.

Thanks

Re: Force 70 runs, but then dies after a little while.

Had the exact symptoms on my 95 70 hp Force.
It was the first boat I had owned that had a built in fuel tank.

member eurolarva was with me the first time it happened.
Got worse and more frequent over the next month or so.

Mine turned out to be water in the fuel.

Drain tank, fresh fuel, always use Seafoam now. No more problem.

I've got the engine sitting in a garbage can full of water. When I run the engine, it runs rough. The engine pops like there is a bubble in the gas line. I've put a water remover chemical in the gas tank to see if it helps.

I fixed the problem. The screw came loose that advances the timing when the throttle is opened.
