force 85 prop size and timing

ok guys ive got a force 85 hp and its got a 13x14 prop is this the correct size? and on the flywheel there are 3 mark on it , once you get it to TDC which one is the 30 degree mark? is it setup 28,30,32 respectively?

the correct size prop will give you wot rpm of 4700-5300

there is no correct prop for a given motor.


It depends on the boat/load.

i would put a 17 on it.with a 17 pitch it should runlow to mid 40s easy

The 2 marks closest to eachother are the 34 and 32 degree marks. Set at 34 for static or 32 for dynamic (running engine at WOT). The mark further away from the other 2 might be for an initial idle timing setting to get you started on setting the timing. Also i've heard that it's better to retard the timing to 28 degrees wherever that may be.
