Force exhaust snout

I have a 1994bayliner Capri with 120 hp outboard Force engine. On my last outing the exhaust snout fell off and I'm desperately searching for another that won't break the bank! I found one that goes with the 85 hp motor and the seller claims it will fit the 120 hp. Can anyone verify this for me? Thanks in advance!

Not really sure becuz the part numbers are little different. You motor snout part # is F523116-4 while the 85HP is F523116-1. Your has the same part# for 90 and 150 HP motors but not the 85 HP. You might want to ask the seller for measurements of the bolt holes diameter and distance center to center.

The 85/90 120/125 all use the same up to when they started using Mercury stuff.
On e-bay they sell them sometimes.

Thanks for the help! The part sizes are the same from what ive learned and it is simply the length of the bolts that change depending on the model.

When you install don't forget to put some kind of permatex or even loctite to make sure you do not lose it again. It's not like you adjust this thing on a daily basis anyway.

ya x2 on the locktite. mine rattled loose this spring. the front bolt came out completely and the rear was 1/2 way. it was ratteling at WOT and i was trying to figure out what it was. then after i stopped everytime i hit into gear it died abruptly but idled fine. i raised the motor and stuck my have down at the prop and felt the loose snout. fearing i would loose it i trolled to a down wind dock. pulled it by hand up to the sand and sat the skeg on a rock so i could see it. i took it off and tried getting back to the ramp where truck was. the exaust caviitated my prop anything over 5-7 mph but we slowly made it. i was able to repair the slight bend in it and re install with new bolts and some locktite.

Did you notice if your snout is angle adjustable? When I go WOT my boat pulls to the right real hard, I noticed the snout is angle to the right and I was wondering should I set it to the center and why would it be adjustable. Near as I can figure you would change the angle for pulling tubes or wake boarsd from the left side of the boat. Any clues?

The exhaust snout also acts as a trim tab. Below is an excerpt from the Force 85-120 manual.

Thanks I'm not doing any towing or tubes so I'm going to center it up and see how that works. Trim is the next issue. I was following another tinman and he had a Chrysler ninety and four adults on and the boat was almost level and up out of the water I could not catch him to see what the difference was but I sure liked the way the boat was riding.

The difference between "porpoising" and "plowing" is the sweet spot for boat speed and fuel economy. A properly trimmed boat will skim the water surface instead of slicing (or plowing) or bouncing off like a dolphin.

ya on my 50 its not adjustable. like above it has the long curved slot for right to left. mine has two holes.
