I always have trouble getting a good seal on my 1989 125 HP Force and never feel like I'm getting enough water through the engine to flush it well. I suspect that I even damaged the water impeller once when trying to flush the engine because there wasn't enough flow. I'd like to find a set of muffs that have some sort of mechanical clamp to hold them in place rather than just relying on the spring tension of the muff connector which is very weak. Does anybody make such a thing? I was told that there are special muffs that fit Force engines but I haven't been able to find them.

Re: Force Flusher

Hi kwk
When using flush muffs a seal(meaning no water leakage) is not necessary. If your muffs are real sloppy, to the point where they won't stay put. Squeeze them in a vice to tighten up a little. You only need enough hose presure to allow a little squirting around the muff. On larger motors I like to do the muff and portable tank (garbage can). This keeps the pump from sucking up exhaust gases and is also quiter for me and my neigbors.

KWK,
i know how you feel, i had just purchased a 89 force 125hp and had the same problem, i had problems finding the correct muffs also, and went to many shops till one said that he could order them for me. I found mine at a place called Boaters world.

Shark Fisher:

Did the new muffs work better? There is a Boater's World nearby. Who is the manufacturer of the muffs you bought?
