Force manual Tilt

I have an 85 HP Force with manual tilt. after I bought the boat, I realized that the revrerse lock is broken. The knob on the motor is still there but isn't connected to anything on the other side. It looks like there should be a rod that runs to a metal attachment that locks onto the motor to keep it from lifting out of the water in reverse. Does anyone know if this part can be replaced? Has anyone ever rigged up a reverse lock in this situation?

Re: Force manual Tilt

Check iboats store or crowleymarine.com and see if they carry the parts you need. If you have the locking bar and spring, you can probably rig a rod out of welding rod or aluminum rod stock that would work.

big fat zip-ties don't do half bad. You can't reverse at full throttle but you can back up more than adequately.
