Force Outboard 1999 120hp

I am looking at a boat with a Force 120, 1999. Does anyone have any feedback as to the quality of the Force outboards? I have heard alot of negative reviews on them....thanks.

You might ask this in the Force/Chrysler repair section for some kind of response.

I have found that every make has people who love them and ones that don't. I would make sure you try the boat on the water before buying it and maybe have a mechanic check it over first. Depending on the price of the boat paying a mechanic $100 or less may keep you from getting someone elses problem.

Even if it checks out OK the guys here report that finding parts is getting to be a real problem.

My own opinion is the Force is a fair motor that is ok with good care.My biggest problem with Force is it is an Orphan.Mercury does have some parts but announced years ago it would no longer produce Force parts.So unless it is a part shared with a Mercury it is a problem.
Do a search right here for Force parts and Evinrude parts, I think you will note the difference.I would hold out for a boat with a more mainline motor.
