force outboard 90 hp

hello i have a 1992 force 90 hp and its on a 17 foot quantum bass boat. it has the 3 blade alum prop on it right now and wanted to know if i could go to a 4 or 5 blade prop with the same pitch if any prob would come up with that.

If your 3 blade prop is the right pitch for you boat, a 4 or 5 blade prop of the same pitch would probably accelerate a little bit better and have a lower top speed. I doubt that there is much to be gained with your boat/motor package if your present prop is the ideal pitch. Four and five blade props solve a problem when there is too much power for the diameter prop you have room for. You don't have that problem with the 90, so 3 blades work best.<br /><br />Red sky....<br />JB

If you go to a 4 or 5 blade prop it will reduce your rpm"s and it will get you out of the whole faster. I would recomend that you decrease the pitch by 1 or 2 degrees to keep your rpm"s up, that way you will come out faster and have high rmp.For your setup you should be running a 21 pitch 3 blade,20 pitch 4 blade,19 pitch 5 blade.
