Force Performance After Rebuild

My force 125 was just rebuilt (new pistons - bearings etc)- It ran rough - and the mechanic put in a new powerpak and coil. This solved the shutter & Kick I had - but it still seems to "surge" at low speed.

I am running in with about 1.5 times the normal oil during the break-in period.

It seems to run a little rough - especially at mid- slow speeds. Is this due to the extra oil?

What kind of performance should I expect at the mid-slow speed - where the carbs are just starting to open.

It seems to "surge" as you are driving. Any Ideas on what to check??????? Or is it just the extra oil?????

Same. I rebuilt mine but did not have a surge . Ran 20 mph - should have run 30 mph. Went back to driveway, fixed the gas leak, found starter relay and choke wiring, not grounded. Im saying are all components remounted properly? Did you adjust throttle linkage? If you did, you have to readjust idle screws. Im pretty sure its not the extra oil. I am running the same mixture since mine is a fresh rebuild. Check your plugs and see if they are burning fuel and oil properly. I think its something simple. Mine was never know when something got forgot

The extra oil could have a lot to do with it.
You will find it necessary to replace the plugs after break-in anyway.
But avoid any adjustments until it is running on it's normal diet of 50:1.
JMHO

I know that my oil extra mixture is not a problem with power or any problems you have had I guess every motors different I know we both need to check the torque on the head bolts around 10 or 12 hours on the rebiulds maybe sooner some body told me the extra oil wasnt a problem

you might want to check the fuel recirculation lines to be sure they are tight on the check valves and plumbed properly....i have found that this made a difference on my 90 hp in the smothness of the mid range performance and plug fouling

Boy howdy - there is an assortment of responses!

One says oil - maeks no differance - one says it does!

My mechanic says to run it through break in - that it could be the oil mix.

But I would like to check the fuel reciruclation lines - where are they located and how do you check them???????

( and my plugs are fouling)

thanks to all jim
