Re: Force prop

I went and measured mine(1984 125 hp ) and I would say 14" is the maximum safe size if you could somehow make a different manufacturer propeller fit. I really doubt it would be worth the effort though and most likely the prop will strike the exhaust snout.

Re: Force prop

Extreme increase in diameter will lower rpm which likely will require a reduction in pitch
and a reduction in speed. Then there is the gearcase /hub relationship to deal with.

Re: Force prop

Not really trying to accomplish much really my aluminum prop is fine but I want to replace it w a stainless I am just limited on options for buying used. Seems everyone has a 15 inch diameter and that it to big for my motor. I was just wanting to know how much room I had for choices that would fit well with my 125 force

Re: Force prop

It's not the size of the blades that limits you, it is the hub diameter. The gearcase on Force engines is only 4 inches and only Force props OR small gearcase Mercury props will fit--unless you want to do some modifications.

Yeah, if you research and look at prop stock/part numbers on replacable hub props, you will find some Honda-Yammy-Suzy props might fit. But here, you need to do your homework.

Unless you are willing to do modifications, stick with the 13 1/4 inch diameter props. Your Force really won't like other sizes.
