force to mercury change

Hi, What do I need to need to change my 1999 Force 50 hp to a 1988 Mercury 70hp. I have the controls for the mercury, just not sure about the steering cables. Have I overlooked anything else?

You need almost nothing. 1999 Force had Mercury controls and wiring. Steering cables are standardised on all boats.

Possibly the drag link, which may be a different length..
THe piece that connects from the end of the steering cable, up to the front of the engine.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I have a line on alate 90's 75hp Mercury.
